What is it about clay that grabs the heart and imagination of so many people? Perhaps it's the amazing transformation of a block of raw, muddy clay into something beautiful and functional...like a mug for your morning coffee. There is great satisfaction in welcoming a handcrafted object into your everyday life, especially when you have met the person who actually made it.
35 clay artists (potters, sculptors & jewelers) from across the state of Virginia will gather in Stanardsville for the 9th annual Virginia Clay Festival.
Come join us on September 21 & 22, 2024 to see their latest work, meet the artists and learn amazing tricks of the trade at the three demonstration areas.
Irish and Old Time bands fill the dining tent with foot tapping music both days of the festival.
Each year volunteers from Greene County and beyond help organize and run this fabulously fun festival. Thank you to all of them!
